Wizkid criticized Don Jazzy in response to a jab made by Mavin Records artist
When fans pointed out rapper Ladipoe’s shade, Wizkid confidently stated, “I’m never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer.”
He further retweeted tweets implying that he was referring to Don Jazzy as nothing more than a social media influencer.
The social media posts sparked outrage on the platform, prompting numerous Nigerians to demand an apology from Wizkid.
In light of this, Nigerians unearthed an old social media post where Wizkid wished Don Jazzy a happy birthday.
In the post, the ‘Essence’ crooner expressed admiration for Don Jazzy, revealing that he looks up to him.
The 2011 post stated, “Happy Birthday to a boss and someone I look up to @DONJAZZY!!!! Bless you, sir!”
‘Calling Don Jazzy An Ordinary Influencer Is Disrespectful’
Meanwhile, Nigerian skit maker and actor, Debo Adebayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has criticized Grammy award-winning singer Wizkid for throwing shade at veteran producer and music executive Don Jazzy.
In a post via X on Monday, Macaroni described Don Jazzy as the biggest entertainment influencer in Africa, which covers music, content, films, and brands, among other things.
However, the manner in which Wizkid referred to Don Jazzy as “an influencer” was disrespectful considering Don Jazzy’s significant contributions to the Nigerian music industry.
