A Nigerian woman identified as Bukola Agboola attempted suicide at her residence, No. 2 Kuburat Lawal Street, Abule-Egba, Lagos.
According to reports, Bukola had drank a poisonous substance on the basis of being frustrated by life’s hardship but was saved by the timely intervention of her neighbours.

She, however, was rushed to the Ile Epo General Hospital by her husband’s brother, who was living nearby.
When asked why she wanted to take her life, Bukola revealed that she was frustrated with life and was tired of being maltreated by her husband, Mr. Wasiu Agboola.
She recounted experiences when her husband beats and inflicts injuries on her noting that the incident led to her decision to take her life.
A neighbour confirmed her narration, stating that Agboola, a bike man, was in the act of beating the woman, especially when demanding sex.
She pleaded with the government and human right activist to come to Iya Idris rescue.
