A viral video of a woman breastfeeding a lynx on a plane has become a topical issue in the last 24 hours.
According to the report, the woman was on a five-hour Delta Airline flight to Atlanta, United States.
In the video, a male passenger called the attention of one of the air attendants on the ‘disgusting’ act.
The woman claimed the animal was meant to provide emotional support for her.
The Air Carrier Access Act provides that a service animal is any animal that is individually trained or able to provide assistance to a person with a disability; or any animal that assists persons with disabilities by providing emotional support.

One of the airline attendants reiterated that an emergency emotional support animal was allowed on the plane.
At the time of the report, it was unclear whether the woman submitted any form documentation before onboarding the plane as required by the ACAA.
“Documentation may be required of passengers needing to travel with an emotional support or psychiatric service animal,” the Act states.
A lynx is any of several medium-sized wild cats, mostly belonging to the Lynx genus.
