Brake Failure Horror: Woman Crushed To Death By Dangote Truck In Lagos

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a woman in Abule Egba, Lagos, was fatally crushed by a Dangote mixer truck after the driver lost control due to brake failure. The incident occurred near the Mobil Filling Station, opposite Zenith Bank, on Monday.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) evacuated the woman’s body from underneath the truck.

He said the driver of the truck was immediately handed over to policemen from Oko-Oba Police Station.

According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that the mixer truck while on a high speed lost control as a result of a brake failure and that while trying to swerved into a drainage channel crushed an innocent woman to death.

He said while the truck driver was immediately apprehended by LASTMA officials, policemen from Oko-Oba Police Station provided security backup while the rescue operations lasted.

Adebayo stated that a LASTMA official Abdul Salam Nurudeen who led the recovery operations confirmed that his team were supported by other road sympathizers to removed the trapped body.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, however warned truck owners/drivers to always ensure their trucks were properly checked, including the braking system before embarking on any journey within or outside Lagos.
