  • World Most Valuable Players In 2025: Lamine Yamal Tops, See Others.

  • Premier League contributes most players, 42 out of top 100.

  • Cole Palmer, Saka, Wirtz among highest-valued young stars.

Barcelona’s teenage prodigy, Lamine Yamal, has emerged as the most valuable footballer in the world, according to the 2025 rankings released by the CIES Football Observatory. The 17-year-old sensation is now worth an estimated £339 million, topping a list filled with elite global talents.

Yamal’s meteoric rise has been fuelled by outstanding performances for both club and country, becoming a key figure in Barcelona’s La Liga title campaign under new manager Hansi Flick. His agility, confidence, and creativity on the ball have earned him comparisons with the game’s greats, despite his young age.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that despite the interest his valuation may attract, Yamal remains untouchable in the transfer market due to a staggering €1 billion release clause inserted into his new Barcelona contract — a bold statement from the club that they plan to build the future around him.

Premier League Leads Global Representation

While Yamal tops the global list, the Premier League has the strongest overall presence, contributing 42 players to the top 100. La Liga follows with 19 players, while Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) leads in club representation with 11 players listed.

Right behind Yamal is Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, valued at £201 million, followed by Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid at £196 million. Kylian Mbappé, now 26 and also at Madrid, is valued at £161 million, making him the oldest player in the top 10.

England’s Young Talents Shine

The ranking also highlights a strong English presence, led by Chelsea’s Cole Palmer at number eight, valued at £106 million after a breakout season. Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka comes in at £96 million, with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers just behind at £95 million.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, valued at £102 million, continues to make headlines, as the Reds are reportedly willing to exceed that figure in a potential transfer.

Surprise Names and Standout Positions

Among the more surprising entries is Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, ranked as the most valuable shot-stopper at £54 million. Jeremie Frimpong, also of Leverkusen, is valued at £55.4 million, nearly double the £29.5 million fee paid for him.

The list also includes talents from less prominent leagues. Samu Aghehowa and Viktor Gyökeres, both playing in Portugal, are valued at £60 million and £59.5 million respectively. Jhon Duran of Saudi Arabia makes the list at £48 million, the sole representative from the Middle East.
