World’s Most Powerful Passports In 2024: See Nigeria’s Position

In 2024, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to lead the global passport rankings, maintaining its position as the most powerful passport for the fourth consecutive year.

UAE citizens enjoy the privilege of accessing 133 countries without a visa and can visit an additional 47 countries with a visa on arrival.

European nations dominate the top positions in the rankings. Spain has risen to second place, with Finland taking the third spot. France and Germany round out the top five, with France being the top-ranked passport among the G20 nations.

In contrast, both the UK and the US have seen a significant decline in their rankings.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that UK has dropped ten places, now standing at 32nd, while the US has fallen from 27th to 38th place. These two countries, which once held more prominent positions, now rank lower in terms of passport strength.

The data compiled by Arton Capital highlights the influence of European passports, which offer the most extensive visa-free access. South Korea, Japan, and Singapore are also among the top-performing passports in Asia, though they do not provide as much freedom of travel as their European counterparts.

The rankings are fluid and can shift due to global events, changing visa policies, and diplomatic relations.

The evolving landscape of passport power underscores the importance of maintaining strong international relationships and agreements.
