World Sango Festival: FRSC, Civil Defence Beef Up Patrol In Oyo
- The ceremony will witness various Sango worshippers and devotees from all the states in Yorubaland, who will pay homage to Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Oyo State, have assured people of adequate security and free flow of traffic during the grand finale of the World Sango Festival celebration in Oyo Town.
They gave the assurance on Saturday in separate interviews with the newsmen in Ibadan on the security arrangement in place for the celebration of 2021 World Sango Festival in Oyo Town.

The grand finale of the festival is ongoing at the Palace of Alaafin of Oyo, which is expected to witness a mixture of culture and traditions.
The ceremony will witness various Sango worshippers and devotees from all the states in Yorubaland, who will pay homage to Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Uche Chukwurah, said her men were already on standby in the area to ensure that no traffic gridlock was witnessed in the area.
Chukwurah said that the personnel of the corps were already at the Palace of Alaafin of Oyo, where the grand finale of the festival would take place to ensure free flow of traffic.
She said that FRSC personnel were also stationed in other strategic areas in the Oyo town to ensure that there was free flow of traffic.
Also, the NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Oluwole Olusegun, said that the Area Commanders in Iseyin and Oyo had deployed their officers to the town to prevent the breakdown of law and order.
Mr Olusegun said that the intelligent unit of the corps had also been deployed ahead of the Saturday celebration and had been updating the command on happenings in the area.
He assured the people of Oyo Town and the state in general that the festival would witness a peaceful celebration.
Mr Olusegun urged them to go about their lawful businesses and celebration without any fear or intimation.
