She stated that the success of many Nigerians in various fields is largely due to the solid foundation built by teachers who have helped shape young minds into shining stars.
This year’s World Teachers Day theme is “Valuing Teachers’ Voices: Towards a New Social Contract for Education.”
Princess Animashaun emphasized that teachers are more than just people who teach.
“They are role models, counselors, and builders of future leaders,” she said.
She emphasized that listening to teachers and valuing their opinions is very important in creating a strong education system.
Teachers’ thoughts and ideas should be included in decisions that affect schools and learning environments.
“Teachers are the backbone of our schools, and their voices are needed in shaping policies that impact teaching and learning.
It is very important that we create a space where teachers feel heard, supported, and empowered to provide quality education,” Princess Animashaun stated.
She also called for stronger partnerships between teachers, government officials, parents, and communities.
This will ensure that education remains a priority, and teachers get the recognition and support they deserve.
“As we push for a new agreement on how to improve education, we must all work together—teachers, parents, and communities—to ensure that teachers have the resources and respect they need,” she said.
The Chairman also assured that her administration remains committed to supporting teachers, enhancing their well-being, and establishing an inclusive education system in Epe. Moreover, she emphasized that the government will persist in its efforts to promote educational development in the community, thereby fostering a conducive learning environment.
“Today, I celebrate the dedication, passion, and commitment of our teachers in shaping the lives of our future leaders,” she concluded.
