EDITOR’S PICK

EKO HOT BLOG reports that five Barcelona players were not included in the team’s preseason trip to the US, according to manager Xavi Hernandez.

The squad has been told to look for new teams.

While Barca has not completely ruled out the prospect of renewing Riqui Puig’s contract, which has one year left, they want him to leave on a loan.

Goalkeeper Neto is another participant. Over the previous few seasons, the Brazilian has served as Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s backup.

Defensive pair Samuel Umtiti and Oscar Mingueza have also been told they can find new clubs, with the arrival of Christensen and impending arrivals of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso set to further reduce their chances of first-team football.

Also on his way out is Albanian striker Rey Manaj, who is believed to be on the verge of joining Watford.
