YALI Network Lagos Set For Ignite Leadership Conference, Gala Night

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network Lagos, a United States (US) Government leadership initiative for young Africans, is set to hold its Ignite Conference.

The event is divided into two parts; a leadership conference and a gala night.

An advertorial obtained by Eko Hot Blog on Friday revealed that the leadership conference will hold at the American Corner, Ikeja, Lagos State, on December 15, 2023, from 11am WAT.

The gala night, on the other hand, will take place at EridanSpace, Ikeja, Lagos, on December 16, 2023, from 1pm WAT.

The conference’s theme is Empowering Tomorrow’s Africa: Leading Change in a Digital World.

YALI Network Lagos said it was inviting all “Young Leaders, Innovators and change-makers” to attend the conference, which it stated is dedicated to empowering Africa’s youth to lead change in the fast-paced digital era.

The network disclosed that the event will produce selected scholarship for undergraduates, prizes for raffle draw winners, professionally edited photoshoot at a highly subsidized rate, and an opportunity to meet prominent speakers, industry experts, and thought leaders.

Some top professionals in various sectors have been billed to speak at the Ignite conference.

Seun Onigbinde, the Global Director at BudgIT, is expected to speak on Ideas to Impact: Innovation as a Tool For Building a Thriving Nation, while Akinbode Roberts, the CEO of Dataleum will address the gathering on Disruptive Thinking: The Role of Technology in Shaping Africa’s Future.

Also, Kayode Ladeinde, the Executive Editor, TVC News, will speak on Expanding Access To Digital Opportunities Through Strategic Communication.

YALI was set up in 2010 as an initiative of the US Department of State during the administration of former President Barack Obama.

The programme is aimed at educating and networking young African leaders regionally.

The YALI Network says it has more than 640,000 members and describes itself as a vibrant online community where young African leaders can learn how to effect change around important issues in their communities and improve their leadership skills through tailor-made online content.

The network develops leadership and entrepreneurship skills and connects participants with their peers and with the American people.
