EKO HOT BLOG reports that officials reported on Monday that an Idaho man was arrested for an alcohol-related charge and other offenses after allegedly kicking a bison at Yellowstone National Park last week. During the incident, he was injured by one of the massive animals.

According to the National Park Service, the individual from Idaho Falls allegedly kicked a bison in the leg on April 21 along West Entrance Road.

The park service stated that his injuries were minor.

The park service reported that he was arrested and charged with being under the influence of alcohol to a degree that may endanger oneself, disorderly conduct leading to the creation or maintenance of a hazardous condition, as well as approaching and disturbing wildlife.

It was stated that a woman accompanying him was charged with driving under the influence, failing to yield, and disturbing wildlife. Rangers stopped the car they were in, located in West Yellowstone, Montana.

Both individuals have pleaded not guilty, as per the park service.

The population within the park fluctuates between approximately 3,000 and nearly 6,000 individuals. Biologists counted 4,830 bison last summer, as per the park service’s website.
