Yinka Odumakin, no doubt lived a life worthy of emulation as regards activism. Here are five things everyone should know about Odumakin.
(1) Yinka Odumakin died at the Intensive Care Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), after a week treating the ravaging Covid-19.
He was earlier at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos, before he was transferred to LASUTH.
(2) Married in 1997, Joe and Yinka Odumakin are the only married couple in the 492-member National Conference which held in Abuja.
(3) Yinka Odumakin was a key player in the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) which ceaselessly battled General Sani Abacha over the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election, popularly known to have being won by MKO Abiola.
(4) Aside being the mouthpiece for Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin was also one of the mouthpiece of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders’ Forum (SMBLF), the umbrella body for all ethnic nationalities in the South-West, South-South, South-East and the Middle Belt.
(5) Yinka Odumakin was said to be one of the most vocal critics of President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration.
He has severally raised his voice over alleged impartiality and favouritism in appointment into various offices as well as recent assassinations and abductions in South western Nigeria, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
