Yoruba Leader, Prof. Banji Akintoye Loses Wife On Christmas Day

The Yoruba self-determination movement is in mourning following the death of Mrs. Julia Olubusola Akintoye, wife of its leader, Professor Banji Akintoye.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Akintoye family confirmed her passing in a statement on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. According to the family, Mrs. Akintoye peacefully departed in the early hours of the day at the age of 88.

The statement described her as a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister, and expressed deep gratitude for her remarkable life.

“It is with profound sorrow but even greater gratitude to God for a life extremely well spent that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Mrs. Julia Olubusola Akintoye,” the family said.
