Yoruba Nation: Akintoye Not Wanted In Nigeria – Aide
- On Sunday, Akintoye confirmed he’s with Sunday Igboho in Benin Republic
Professor Banji Akintoye, a Yoruba Nation agitator and supporter of Sunday Igboho, did not flee Nigeria for fear of arrest by security agents.
This is according to a clarification made in a statement by his media aide, Maxwell Adeleye, on Wednesday.
According to Adeleye, Akintoye is a supporter for peaceful agitations.
“He fear no arrest, even if the Nigerian Government have such a plan. It is not true that the renowned Historian has been declared wanted”, he noted.

Akintoye, a renowned historian, is one of the leaders of the Nigerian Indigenous National Alliance for Self-Determination (NINAS).
The body has announced a “One Million March” at the United Nations headquarters in New York, to seek referendum on self-determination and abolition of Nigeria’s 1999 constitution.
The Second Republic Senator had insisted that he and Igboho committed no offence against the Nigeria state to warrant arrest and detention.
He however vowed to return to the country as soon as Ighoho is released by the Beninise government.
