The umbrella body of Yoruba self-determination groups, Ilana Omo Oodua, led by Second Republic Senator, Banji Akintoye, had earlier vowed to hold the Yoruba Nation rally in the state.
The group had made the vow after the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, warned the agitators to stay away from the state or risk facing the wrath of the law.
However, EKO HOT BLOG gathered that security operatives have cordoned off some parts of Ikorodu Road and environs, resulting in heavy traffic around the axis in the early hours of Saturday.
At about 8am, motorists and other road users were enjoined to ply alternative routes to their destinations to avoid been caught up in the building traffic as a result of several road blockades, especially along Ikorodu Road.
