Ekohotblog reports that the Yoruba Obas Forum, composed of royal fathers from across Yoruba land, gathered on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Aladeshonyin Palace, Odo-Noforija, Eredo LCDA, Epe Division for a courtesy visit.
During the visit, the forum praised Oba (Dr) Babatunde Ogunlaja (JP) the Alashanyin of Odo Noforija kingdom, former Secretary, Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Vice President Council of Chiefs and Obas Epe division for his outstanding leadership and dedication to upholding Yoruba traditions.
Oba Ogunlaja welcomed the royal fathers warmly and spoke about the importance of unity, respect, and progress among Yoruba Obas. He urged them to work together to preserve Yoruba culture, promote development, and maintain peace in their communities.
Several Obas praised Oba Ogunlaja for his excellent leadership. H.R.M. Oba (Dr.) Samuel Adeoye from Ondo State said, “Oba Ogunlaja is a true custodian of Yoruba traditions. His wisdom, humility, and understanding of our values are inspiring.”
Oba Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe added, “The Aladeshonyin leads with integrity and has shown that leadership is about serving the people. His efforts to unite and develop Yoruba land are praiseworthy.”
The forum highlighted how Oba Ogunlaja promotes dialogue among Yoruba Obas and ensures proper traditional practices are followed. They also appreciated his role in resolving disputes and promoting peace in his domain.
“Oba Ogunlaja always works to settle disagreements fairly and ensure harmony among his people, even monarchs,” said another monarch.
In response, Oba Ogunlaja thanked the forum members for their kind words and emphasized the need for collective efforts to solve problems like insecurity, lack of education, and economic challenges.
“Our strength lies in our unity,” he said. “As royal fathers, we must protect our traditions, promote development, and secure a bright future for our people.”
