Yoruba Obas Forum Visits Odo Ayandelu Palace, Lagos State

Ekohotblog reports that the Yoruba Obas Forum, a coalition of traditional rulers from Yoruba-speaking states, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit, to the Alayandelu of Odo Ayandelu, Oba Asunmo Aderibigbe, at his palace in Lagos State.

The visit was part of the forum’s ongoing efforts to strengthen unity and promote Yoruba cultural values.

The visitation was led by the president of the forum, Oba Dr. Samuel Adeoye, the Molokun of Atijere in Ondo State, the delegation was warmly received by Oba Aderibigbe and his chiefs.

In his remarks, Oba Dr. Adeoye highlighted the importance of the Yoruba Obas Forum in building collaboration among Yoruba kings across the country.

“The Yoruba Obas Forum was founded to unite all traditional rulers in Yoruba-speaking regions.

”Our mission is to preserve the Yoruba heritage, address common challenges, and promote peace and progress across our land,” he said.

Oba Asunmo Aderibigbe expressed his appreciation for the visit and commended the forum’s dedication to preserving Yoruba traditions.

He emphasized the need for unity among Yoruba monarchs, noting,

“It is our collective responsibility to uphold the dignity of our culture and protect our heritage for future generations.

“As traditional rulers, we must stand together as custodians of our people’s history and values.”

During the visit, Oba Aderibigbe acknowledged the contributions of prominent Lagos monarchs, including the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, and the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, for their commitment towards promoting Yoruba tradition

In his closing remarks, Oba Dr. Adeoye reaffirmed the forum’s commitment to reaching out to other Yoruba-speaking areas, urging all Yoruba people to remain steadfast in preserving their traditions and cultural identity.

“Our traditions are the essence of who we are. Together, we must protect and celebrate them,” he said.

The visit ended with collective prayers and a renewed pledge by the Yoruba Obas Forum to strengthen collaboration among traditional rulers for the benefit of Yoruba land.
