Eko Hot Blog reports that the Aremo of Epe Kingdom, Otunba TJ Abass, on Monday, charged children in the community to have faith in themselves and embrace hard work in their pursuit of success.
He made the charge at a Children’s Party, one of the events lined up to celebrate the 2023 Epe Kayokayo festival.
According to the media entrepreneur, the children must imbibe the spirit of hard work and perseverance, and they will be able to accomplish anything they want.
“You can be anything you want to be. Every great journey begins with a single step, You can be anything you want to be. All it takes is hard work, perseverance, and faith in yourself,” Otunba Abass said.
He further stated that education is an important tool, encouraging all children at the party to never stop reading in a bid to boost their knowledge.
The Epe chief concluded his speech by awarding cash prizes to the contestants of the event’s spelling bee and dancing competitions.
Meanwhile, the Epe Youth Forum held a rally as the Children’s Party was underway.
Yussuff Olakewu, the rally’s organising secretary, said the walk enhanced youth inclusion.
Olakewu noted that the rally was also an avenue for youths to come together and make plans for the growth and development of their community.
“Kayokayo comes up every year, and the youth rally is to unite the youths, to make them know Kayokayo is a big event, and for the youths to learn some lessons, and get to know that the event isn’t just for the adults alone, but they’re also to be involved,” he said.
“The youth rally is a time for the youths to come together and plan on how they’d be involved in the growth and development of the society.
“It is also a means to get the younger generation involved in the program of the community.”
The rally’s organising secretary also stated that the youth forum intends to improve the educational sector of the community.
According to him, they intend to do it by buying GCE forms for the youths and also empowering them with skills, and providing financial support to those involved in businesses.
