Almost 70% of Nigerians, now have a gas cylinder in their houses. We have all switched from using kerosine stoves, I mean it’s even more expensive these days.
So, This is an important topic to discuss because the vast majority of people choose this gas for a variety of reasons, but we should also understand tactics for dealing with any unforeseen situation that may develop.
No one is perfect, and we could wind up in a situation where the gas chamber explodes into flames, in which case we must act quickly to prevent further harm.
A gas stove is the most well-known source of cooking fuel in many homes. Gas cylinders are filled with LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), which is can be destructive when used carelessly.
As a result, you need to take precautions when using a gas cooker in your house.
Assuming your gas cylinder bursts into flames, I’m certain the main idea that comes into view is to splash some water over it, but this isn’t the best solution.
Here is what you should do
Wet a big towel or thick cloth in water (and detergent, if available) until it is completely soaked. Place it over the gas source, make sure you cover the area where the gas emerges with the towel. The flames would go off in a matter of seconds.
