‘Your Vision For Lagos’ Development On Track’ — Sanwo-Olu Tells Tinubu At Welcome Party
Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has told President Bola Tinubu that his vision for the development of the state remains on track.
The governor made the claim on Wednesday at a welcome party the state government held for the president.
Tinubu is in Lagos, where he was governor from 1999 to 2007, for the Christmas and New Year break.
He has often been credited for the state’s economic growth. He also reportedly designed a “master plan” that his successors, whom he handpicked, have been mandated to follow to develop the state.
In a social media post following the Lagos government’s welcome party for the president, Sanwo-Olu said his administration is using the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to change the city’s landscape through implementation of “the development master plan conceived decades back”.
The governor also revealed that Tinubu acknowledged his administration’s “result-oriented approach” to turn Lagos around positively.
“Today, alongside my deputy, cabinet members, National Assembly members from Lagos, House of Assembly members, and chairmen of Local Government Areas, we received His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at Lagos House, Marina,” he wrote.
“I assured President Tinubu that his vision for Lagos’ development remains on track, using the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority as a reference point.
“LAMATA was created by his administration when he was governor and it has been the leading agency changing the city’s landscape through implementation of the development master plan conceived decades back.
“It was also heartwarming to receive the president’s acknowledgment of our administration’s result-oriented approach to turn Lagos around, while creating opportunities out of challenges.”
