You’re A Source Of Inspiration To Nigerians In Diaspora, Segun Adeyina Tells Ikuforiji In US

  • Ikuforiji recently visited the Georgia Assembly complex in the United States.

  • While there, he met Nigerian-American, Segun Adeyina, a member of the Georgia Assembly.

  • Adeyina was elected to represent Georgia’s 110th District in November 2022.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Segun Adeyina, a member of the Georgia House of Representative from Georgia’s 110th district, US, has hailed Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, a former Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, for his inspiring leadership.

Last week, Ikuforiji led a delegation of Nigerians to witness the closing of the Georgia Assembly Session in Atlanta, Georgia.

The visit came amid recent successes recorded by Nigerians running for political offices in the US.

Recall that, in November 2022, five Nigerians, including Adeyina, Gabe Okoye, Solomon Adesanya, Tish Naghise (sadly passed away early March), and Phil Olaleye, were elected into the Georgia General Assembly for the first time in history.

During the visit to the Georgia General Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikuforiji met the new Speaker of the Georgia House, Speaker Jon Burns, who was pleased to meet with the Nigerian delegation.

Adeyina, who welcomed the Ikuforiji-led delegation to the assembly, could not hide his excitement at the sight of his countrymen.

The lawmaker lauded the former Lagos speaker, saying Nigerians in elected offices in the US are following his footsteps.

“It is my deepest joy to see my people from home in Nigeria checking on us here, especially Rt Hon Ikuforji,” he said.

“Sir, we are following your foot paths here. Remember you are a 4-star general as a parliamentarian.”

On his part, Ikuforji appreciated the fact that the likes of Adeyina and his other Nigerian colleagues are not only active in the United States politics but also getting elected into elective positions.
