The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Epe Division, held its 2024 Youth Conference themed One World, One Future: Leveraging Diversity for Self-Sustaining Success.
The youth conference, hosted by the NYCN Epe Branch under the leadership of Ambassador Moibi Ibrahim, took place at the Local Government Council Chamber, Itamarun, Epe, Lagos State, today, 14th December 2024.
The conference featured activities such as a speech delivered by the keynote speaker, Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Honorable Sesan Abdullahi Olowa, who spoke extensively on the theme of the conference and delivered a captivating message to the youths in attendance.

While speaking on leveraging diversity for self-sustaining success, the keynote speaker cited explicit measures and categories of success, highlighting that success isn’t only measured by the accumulation of wealth but also by the achievement of certain goals.
“Achievement of goals is what success is all about. For you to have sustainable success, you have to be resilient,” he said.
He further mentioned key steps to embrace in order to achieve sustainable success, including adopting a growth mindset and building strong relationships and networks.
While discussing this, he referenced Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying, “Against all odds, Asiwaju became President because of the strong network he has built over the years. So, I implore you to build strong relationships and networks as well as embrace diversity.”
Additionally, Honorable Sesan Abdullahi Olowa urged the youths to adopt a growth mindset and acquire rare skills or degrees in order to stand out and remain relevant in contemporary society.
Following the keynote speaker’s address, the chairman of the occasion, Chief Wasiu Olaomopo Ayeola, commended the efforts of the NYCN Epe Division for organizing such a conference and initiating youth empowerment in Epe. He enabled donations to the NYCN Epe by contributing money to the association. The keynote speaker also made donations to the organization.
During the conference, Honorable Wale Raji, representative of Epe Division at the Federal Constituency, through the NYCN Empowerment Scheme, equipped 20 tailors who had just concluded fashion training with a manual sewing machine each and handed them certificates of completion.
Also, the NYCN Epe Essay Writing and Public Speaking Competition Finale was held, featuring five schools that qualified for the final stage: Epe Girls Senior High School, Iskanulihaq Educational Service International Epe, Chalcedony Ideal Secondary School Epe, Odo Ogbara Senior High School Epe, and Vivid Mind College.
The presentations by each representative sparked impressive reactions from the audience, and monetary prizes were awarded by the organizers.
The speaker from Epe Girls Senior High School, Abraham Blessing Gift, emerged as the first-place winner and was awarded a prize of ₦50,000.
Hassan Mamud, the speaker from Iskanulihaq Educational Service International Epe, took second place and was awarded ₦30,000. The third-place prize of ₦20,000 was won by Iddo Oreoluwa from Chalcedony Ideal Secondary School.
