The party chieftains who spoke during their goodwill messages in Epe at the official unveiling of the N64m Naira cash grant to 1,280 women under the 32 Asiwaju Progressive Women Cooperative, Thrift and Credit Societies.
Ekohotblog reports that among the several top party chieftains who defied the downpour to honour the good people of the Epe federal constituency was the Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the party, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who credited the massive projects and programs, executed by the Lawmaker to having power at the centre.
“To our co-host, my dear brother, one good turn deserves another. This is my second time of coming here to commission one project or the other and they have said it all. The Royal fathers have spoken, you started very well.
“We opened the race during the party primaries, you went into the contest, we didn’t force you on the people of Epe, the people of Epe came out en masse to appreciate what you’ve done and they gave you the ticket to go and represent them at the House of Representatives, God almighty will continue to be with you.
“You can see the opportunities Hon Wale Raji brought to the people of Epe, he succeeded in achieving that because it is our party at the centre. Myself, Hon. Jumoke Okoya and Hon Gbabijo, we were at the National Assembly under the opposition, and we didn’t have the opportunity. Let the job continue,” he urged.
Also, the former Lagos State Commissioner for Education and Lagos East All Progressive Congress Vice Chairman, Barrister Olayinka Oladunjoye, in her short remarks described the socio-economic development legacies of Wale Raji as astonishing.
“I want to start by appreciating Hon Wale Raji. In fact, I was stupefied when you started reeling out your achievements. I know you have done a lot but I didn’t appreciate that you have done so much. I want to say to you thank you on behalf of the citizens and good people of Epe. You have done well my brother, I appreciate you. I want to congratulate those who are getting money today,” she said.
Dr Mrs Lola Akande, the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives described Hon Wale Raji as an “Articulate Honorable” for the monumental socio-economic development gestures implanted in the lives of women across Epe Federal Constituency.
Dr Akande, who was represented by Permanent Secretary of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Mrs Adetutu Ososanya said, “I commend the organisers of this initiative for all works and contributions geared towards establishing and empowering these cooperators. I also want to congratulate all the stakeholders that have come together to make this economic program a reality.”
She implored the womenfolk to support the APC candidates in the coming General elections.
“Member, House of Representatives Sir, your choice of economic empowerment of 1,280 women through the cooperative society’s platform who have been selected across 20 political wards of the Epe Federal Constituency is commendable and as it is known worldwide that these strategies will eliminate rural underdevelopment, create employment, increase economic growth and productivity which would result to household poverty reduction. By doing this sir, you have touched the lives of our people positively,” she said.
On her part, the Lagos APC women leader and two-term House of Representatives Member, Hon Jumoke Okoya-Thomas said the synergy between Lagos and the Federal Government had impacted positively on the lives of the people of Epe Federal Constituency in terms of democratic dividends.
“I want to say something about Hon Wale Raji and I would say this coming as a Lawmaker myself, then we were in the opposition and today we can experience the true dividend of democracy. He has brought so many goodies; I couldn’t stop smiling as he was rolling them out. He is a great man indeed, a worthy lawmaker that has shown and proven himself to be ready to represent us in this constituency once again.
“Hon Wale Raji, it is the third time you’re inviting me to this constituency and I really commend you. A lot of times, when we look at constituency projects on television across the nation, I haven’t seen one that is as much as this. You have done so very well; you’ve given out cash to entrepreneurs. When I came in, I saw their faces shining, glowing with happiness, that means somebody is doing something here,” she said.

“The difference is clear; you’ve heard about the exploits of Wale Raji. That is the more reason why I became his pillar of support. It is clear to everyone that he is worthy of my unflinching support. I thank our Royal fathers for also standing by him. I am proud of him and other candidates representing us from Epe, they have all passed,” he said.
