The Zamfara State government has announced the payment of a 13th month salary to all civil servants, public workers, and retirees in the state. Governor Dauda Lawal’s spokesman, Sulaiman Bala Idris, explained that the initiative is meant to provide workers with extra financial support during the holiday season. This is the second time such a payment has been approved in Zamfara’s history, following a similar gesture last year under Governor Lawal’s leadership.
The governor’s administration has also taken other steps to support workers, including clearing ₦10 billion in unpaid gratuities from the past 11 years, approving a new minimum wage of ₦70,000, and ensuring salaries are paid promptly. These efforts aim to empower workers and boost the state’s economy.
