PDP’s Dauda Lawal has pulled a major upset by unseating the incumbent Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle.

Lawal was declared the winner in Gusau, the state capital in the early hours of Tuesday.

Lawal polled a total of 377,726 votes to defeat Matawalle of the APC who polled 311,976 votes.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Lawal the governor-elect with a total of 377,726 votes after he defeated Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 311,976.
The announcement of his victory took place on Tuesday morning in Gusau, the capital city of the state.
