According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesman, Mallam Isa Gusau, Zulum during his interaction with the leadership of the refugees, asked for challenges being faced so that he could approve interventions.

He said joint efforts between his administration, federal establishments and the UNHCR were being made to repatriate the refugees to safe resettlements in Borno.

Eko Hot Blog recalls that the Borno State government had sought support from the UNHCR to facilitate the return of the Nigerians seeking refuge in the neighbouring Chad.

The governor, while in Baga Sola, supervised the distribution of ₦50m cash to 5,000 families, with each family receiving ₦10,000 cash.
