EKO HOT BLOG reports that Hon Wale Raji, Hon Abiodun Tobun and Hon Dahunsi Ogunkelu, on Friday, Clinched the All Progressive Congress, APC, ticket for Epe Federal Constituency, Lagos State House of Assembly, Epe Constituency I and II respectively.
Hon Wale Raji, who is the lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency defeated Princess Aderemi Adebowale and Hon Segun Olulade to contest the seat for a 3rd term.
The primary election was held at Jubilee Chalet, Epe, as INEC officials and security personnel observed the process.
Ninety ad-hoc delegates drawn from 19 wards in the Federal constituency were accredited and they all voted.
Announcing the result, Chairman, primary Electoral Committee, Mr Wasu Shakiru, declared Raji a winner after he scored 84 votes to defeat other aspirants.
Hon Segun Olulade, got 3 votes, Hon Remi Adebowale, 3 votes while other aspirants did not score any vote.
Likewise, a Member, representing Epe Constituency I in Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Tobun polled 24 votes as his closest rival Hon Segun Agbaje got 11 votes. Hon Tobun won the primaries to contest the seat for the 4th time.
Also, Member, representing Epe Constituency II, Hon Dahunsi Ogunkelu, popularly known as Sketel, picked a ticket to contest for the 2nd term.
Sketel won the election with 43 votes to defeat Hon Adeniyi Shamsideen, who polled 12 votes.
In an interview with EKO HOT BLOG after he was declared the winner of the contest and presented with a copy of the result sheet by State Electoral Officers and INEC Observers, Hon Wale Raji acknowledged that the good people of Epe Federal Constituency had compensated him with their massive votes.
“I appreciate our party leaders, traditional rulers and the youths for their support, standing by me.
“The victory is dedicated to God Almighty and all my teeming youths and supporters, I appreciate you all.
“I promise never to let you all down. Victory for one is a victory for all. Success for one is success for all. Thank you all, ” he said.
Hon Tobun described his win as a good fight and said his opponents were his noble kinsmen bound by the same umbilical cord.
He urged that they close ranks and support his lofty people-oriented programs as a 4th term Legislator in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Tobun commended the good people of the Epe constituency I for their love and support towards his victory, which he said, was a testament to his political bravery.
Hon Oluwadahunsi Ogunkelu in an interview with EKO HOT BLOG before the election said he was not sure of victory as he has nothing to influence the delegates.
He was, however, hopeful in God for victory, stressing that he has led the good people of Epe Constituency II to the best of his ability in the last four years.
This online media platform observed that the House of Assembly primary election for Epe Central and Eredo LCDA which was held at Epe Jubilee Chalets Hall and Okemagba Development Association Hall was earlier postponed on Thursday, May 26th by the Lagos APC.
The commencement of the primary election which was supposed to kick off by 10:00 am was delayed till around 2:00 pm at the famous Epe Jubilee Chalet for Epe Constituency I and the Okemagba Development Association for Epe Constituency II.
The delay EKO HOT BLOG gathered was a result of the late arrival of APC Electoral Officials and materials.
It was also gathered that delegates were duly screened at the entrance of both venues when the election eventually began.
After the voting had kicked off in Epe Jubilee Chalet, it was gathered that up to four delegates who were serving members in the Epe Local Government Cabinet and the Lagos State Government were disqualified by the electoral umpire at the instance of complaints made by some aspirant and their agents.
