Governor Zulum attributed the floods to this year’s heavy rainfall and noted that urban development has blocked natural water channels, disrupting water flow. He also cited the overflow of the Alo Dam, worsened by the release of water from dams in Cameroon.

Plans are underway to reconstruct the Alo Dam to enhance its capacity and to remove structures from flood-prone areas to prevent future flooding.
