₦3bn Corruption Scandal: NSCDC Deputy Commandant, Ex-Naval Chief Arrested

- NSCDC Deputy Commandant Arrested – Adam Imam Yusuf was apprehended for allegedly diverting over ₦3 billion.

A Deputy Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kogi State, Adam Imam Yusuf, has been arrested for allegedly diverting over ₦3 billion.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) apprehended Yusuf at his residence in Gwagwalada, Abuja, after he had been on the run.

ICPC, in a statement on its website, revealed that Yusuf allegedly conspired with former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin (rtd.), and ex-Brigadier General Ishaya Bauka Gangum (rtd.) to perpetrate the fraud.
The investigation uncovered that public funds were siphoned through 92 fictitious companies unregistered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The diverted funds were linked to Lahab Integrated, Gate Coast Properties, and other firms, leading to the acquisition of more than 18 properties, including filling stations.

So far, four properties have been forfeited to the government, while legal proceedings are ongoing to recover the remaining assets.
The ICPC also confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects still at large.
