1. Mohammadi is a global phenomenal woman, who is prominent for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran. She is a human rights activists notable for fighting the course of women and the female gender.
2. She was born on April 21, 1972 in Zanjan Iran. She is a Physicist, writer and deputy director of the Defenders of Human Rights Centre (DHRC).

3. She fought the country in her campaign against death penalty and corruption
4. She has been in and out of jail since 2010, and currently serving a jail term in Evin Prisons, Tehran for ‘spreading propaganda” against the State. Despite being in prisons, she has refused to be silenced, as she continues to write letters to the world exposing the ills going on the prisons and how women are sexually abused in the Persian prisons.
5. She is married to another Activist, Taghi Rahmani , who lives in Paris with their two children.
6. Mohammadi won the prize in absentia 20 years after her colleague and co-rights activist, Shirin Ebadi won the same award in 2003. This will make her the second Iranian woman to have ever won the award in the history of the 122-year old prize.
7. She is notable for organising protests, writing essays and mobilizing grassroots women; empowering women through education and advocacy. She has been fighting for the past 30 years of her life.
