The cause of the blaze is under investigation, with a team of investigators dispatched to the scene, police spokesperson Resila Onyango reported.

Fires at schools are not uncommon in Kenya. In 2017, an arson attack at Moi Girls High School in Nairobi claimed the lives of 10 students. The deadliest school fire in Kenya’s history occurred 20 years ago in Machakos County, where 67 students lost their lives.
