EKO HOT BLOG reports that Maj. Gen. Aligbe, who serves as the examination president for the 2024 Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE), emphasized that the test is a key requirement for officers’ progression and their potential selection for the Junior Staff Course in overseas colleges.
The exam evaluates their proficiency as captains and prepares them for higher responsibilities in the Army.
“This exam can be passed without resorting to any illegal or dishonest methods.
It’s not just an assessment, but a test of your capability to take on future tasks in the Nigerian Army,” Aligbe stated.
He also expressed confidence in the officers’ training and operational experience, noting that they should be well-prepared. “There should be no excuses for failure, and I expect a 100% pass rate.”
The General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Maj. Gen. Obinna Onubogu, in his welcome address, thanked the Army headquarters for selecting his division to host the CMPPE.
He assured participants that all necessary administrative, logistical, and security arrangements were in place, though he advised them to remain security-conscious given the unpredictable nature of Akure’s peaceful but cautious environment
