Sowore To Help Victimized Peter Obi Supporters

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 2023 Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, on Monday, cheered supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, after the politician promised to come in for anyone wrongfully victimized in the opposition’s camp during the ongoing campaign season.

This online media platform gathered that Sowore took to his verified Twitter page to react to Obi’s lamentation that his supporters are being intimidated and arrested.

Obi had in a thread today alleged that some of his supporters popularly known as OBIdients are being silently arrested by some security agents.

The former Governor of Anambra State condemned the act calling on the Federal and State agencies to educate their operatives on the need to respect civil rights.

Obi’s tweet reads: “Labour Party candidate Elections are not deemed free and fair when a certain group employs the tool of intimidation to ensure that the opposition is silenced, both at the campaigns and at the polls.

“Recent reports of OBIdients being silently arrested by some security agents is extremely disturbing and condemnable. We must ensure that everyone is given a level playing field in the forthcoming elections, and that no eligible Nigerian, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation is disenfranchised, more so through violence and intimidation.

“I call on the Federal and State agencies to remind their operatives on the need to respect civil liberties. Thank you. God bless you all. God bless Nigeria.”

Reacting to the development, Sowore took to his personal Twitter page to also condemn the assault on his opponent’s camp.

He tweeted: “It has come to our attention that security agencies are victimising supporters of Peter Obi, according to a report attributed to him.

“If you know of anyone being wrongfully victimised for their political views or choices, do not hesitate to let us know. We’ll be happy to help.”
