Announcing the results of the election, the presiding officer of the polling unit, Sowan Stephen, announced that Obi secured 104 votes to defeat his challengers, including the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria People’s Party.
