The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed that its national convention will take place in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.
The opposition party said the convention would mark its re-launch as Nigeria’s credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking at a press conference at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, announced that the National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) had established 11 subcommittees to oversee logistics, security, media, transport, and other critical aspects. He said the goal was to ensure a “seamless and all-inclusive convention.”
Ologunagba added that the gathering in Ibadan would put the PDP in a strong position to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
“Our party is organic, democratic, and connected to the people. Whatever comes out of Ibadan will put the PDP on a very solid ground to take over government in 2027,” he said.
The PDP spokesperson also confirmed that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) had approved the zoning of national offices, while micro-zoning consultations were ongoing across the regions. He noted that the sale of nomination forms for party offices was still in progress.
