60-Yr-Old Man Arrested For Defiling Minor In Delta

• The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 67-year-old man, Gabriel Achibong for allegedly defiling minor in Delta state. 

Ekohotblog reports that the Delta State Police Command has arrested a 67-year-old man, Gabriel Achibong for allegedly defiling an eleven-year-old girl at Okpe road area of Sapele in Delta State.

This online media gathered that the man lured the victim, JSS1 pupil into a room and allegedly defiled her.

The suspect who is currently in detention allegedly defiled the girl when she came to meet the suspect’s wife, who is a hairdresser to make her hair, a source in the community told Punch.

“The little girl has been making her hair at the woman’s makeshift saloon attached to the suspect’s apartment. She came on Sunday to make her hair but the woman was busy making another person’s hair, the girl had to wait, she was watching television from outside through the window.

“The window was a bit close, so the suspect’s wife advised her to go inside and sit down to watch the programme on the television, that was when the husband took advantage of her and rape her.

“The girl did not scream for help during the incident because the suspect gagged her mouth to prevent her from shouting in order not to alert his wife and others.”

It was gathered that the suspect threatened to kill the little girl should she tell what happened to anyone especially his wife.

It was reported that the mother of the victim was said to have noticed when the victim got home and inquired to know what the problem was before she explained to her mother what happened. It was at that point that the victim’s mother got the police involved.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Edafe Bright said, “Yes, it is confirmed, as I speak to you now, the matter has been charged to court.”
