EKO HOT BLOG reports that less than 24 hours after the killing of 11 people in Kurmin Masara in Atyap Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, gunmen have attacked Atisa, also in Kurmin Masara, leaving five people dead Monday night.

A source from a neighbouring village who confirmed the attack said the gunmen arrived around 9:50pm and seized the community for an hour.

“Because most of the residents deserted their homes in Kurmin Masara, the attackers decided to attack Atisa, a nearby settlement of the same Kurmin Masara axis.”

The Youth Leader of Atyap Chiefdom, Gabriel Joseph, raised the alarm that the gunmen had the agenda of wiping them out.

He called on the government to take serious action to defend and protect citizens and their properties.

Confirming the incident in a press statement, the Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government, Francis Sani, said the government would not relent until peace was restored and the perpetrators fished out.
