EKO HOT BLOG reports that the founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Apostle John Okoriko who was abducted on Tuesday from the church premises in the Mpat Enin Local Government Area by gunmen, has been released after spending four days in his kidnappers’ den.
The hoodlums kidnapped Okoriko and took him to an unknown destination.
According to reports, the kidnappers spoke with the victim’s family via the victim’s driver’s phone, which was stolen during the operation. They allegedly sought N100 million in ransom.
When the family was unable to acquire the money, the kidnappers reduced demand to N30m, then to N10m on Friday afternoon.
However, it was unclear whether the ransom had been paid before the Pastor regains freedom.
As tensions were high due to the family’s inability to pay the captors’ demand, the victim sauntered in amidst joyous applause from his church and family members.
It was gathered that the kidnappers were not comfortable with keeping him in their custody because of social media and newspaper reports, which drew the attention of the government and security agencies to the incident.
