The accused was especially charged with facilitating the payment of random to kidnappers of Kaduna-Abuja train passengers in 2022.
Eko Hot Blog reports that former terrorists’ negotiator, Tukur Mamu, has been arraigned before the Federal High Court, Abuja, on a 10-count charge bordering on terrorism and financing, especially on the recent Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
The office of the attorney-general of the federation, on behalf of the federal government, made the arraignment before Justice Inyang Ekwo.
Mamu pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He was arrested on September 6, 2022 on his way to Saudi Arabia for Lesser Hajj and was detained at Cairo International Airport before repatriated back to Nigeria.
On September 13, 2022, Justice Nkeonye Maha of a sister court gave the Department of State Services (DSS) a go-ahead to detain the former terrorists’ negotiator for 60 days to enable it to conclude its investigation on who led the negotiation with the terrorists for the release of the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers kidnapped in March 2022.
