Kogi State Police Gifts Families Of 25 Deceased Officers N39.8 Million

  • The Kogi State Police Command has presented families of 25 deceased officers a cheque of N39.8 million.

  • The presentation of the cheque was sanctioned on the approval of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman through his representative in the Commissioner of Police for Kogi State, CP Akeem Yusuf.

  • Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya stressed that it was in the service of the “Group Life Assurance Scheme”.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Kogi State Police Command has presented a cheque of N39,815,369.74k to the families of 25 deceased police officers. The presentation of the cheque was made on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, by the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Akeem Yusuf.

In a statement by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, the service is part of the “Group Life Assurance Scheme” and IGP’s “Family welfare Insurance,” which are aimed at improving the welfare of the families of deceased police officers and to inspire other officers in active service to be diligent.

During the presentation of the cheques to the next of kin of the deceased officers in Lokoja, ACP Agwoye John, who represented the Commissioner of Police, expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. He stated that the loss of the deceased personnel was an unfortunate situation, and the police command was committed to ensuring that their families were well taken care of.

The statement also urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but to make judicious use of it for the betterment of their families. The presentation of the cheques is expected to provide some relief to the families of the deceased officers and help to ease their financial burdens.
