Governor Mohammed Umar Bago made the announcement at a press briefing in Minna on Friday. He said the holidays would allow for the smooth and efficient distribution of the palliatives, which include N5 billion in cash and other food items.

Bago said each ward in 21 local government areas would receive N10 million, while wards in Bida, Suleja, Kontagora, and Chachanga local government areas would get N20 million each. He added that N80 million would be given to traditional institutions, N75 million to internally displaced persons (IDPs), N150 million to political parties, and N110 million for logistics and security.
