Lagos State Government Promises Abundance Of Projects In 2024
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a recent revelation that stirred excitement and anticipation among Lagosians, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, unveiled an array of initiatives and projects expected to unfold in the new year.
During his appearance on the ‘Greater Lagos Insight Show’ on Eko 89.7 FM, Omotoso shed light on the diverse programs spanning various sectors of the economy and fields of human activity.

According to Omotoso, the widely acclaimed Blueline project is just a glimpse of the comprehensive agenda set to be executed in the coming year.
He emphasized that Lagosians should brace themselves for a multitude of groundbreaking projects.
Mr. Gbenga Omotoso “Everybody has seen what we have done with the Blueline which Lagosians home and abroad are applauding, but that I can assure you is just a tip of the iceberg going by what is expected to be delivered in the present year.”
One of the prominent projects on the horizon is the Lekki Airport, strategically positioned near the Lekki Free Trade Zone and Dangote Refinery.
Omotoso highlighted its significance in alleviating congestion at the Muritala Muhammed Airport, projecting it to handle 350 Airbus aircraft simultaneously and serve five million passengers annually.
“The Lekki Airport is projected to ease the traffic at the Muritala Muhammed Airport which is expected to be built around the Lekki Free Trade Zone and about 10 kilometres from the Dangote Refinery.”
Additionally, the much-anticipated 38-kilometer-long Fourth Mainland Bridge is set to commence construction in the first quarter of the year.
This critical infrastructure is designed to traverse four local governments, providing employment opportunities and alleviating traffic congestion on interstate roads.
“The 38 kilometres long Fourth Mainland Bridge which the State Government is hoping to commence in the first quarter of the year will pass through four Local Governments and will burst out at Ikorodu to decongest traffic on interstate roads.” he added.
Other noteworthy projects in the pipeline include the expansive Massey Hospital, heralded as the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Mental and Health Centre at Ketu, the 5.1-kilometer Road at Itomu Epe, and the finalization of the Blue Rail Line from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko.
Omotoso affirmed the government’s commitment to engaging citizens as valuable partners through various channels, such as Town Hall Meetings, Print Media, and Citizen Gates Platforms.
