Rema Donates N105m to Christ Embassy Church, Honoured by Oba of Benin
Afrobeats sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, made a generous donation of N105 million to a Christ Embassy church in Benin, Edo State, on Sunday.
The donation took place during a Sunday service, where Rema expressed his gratitude to the church for its unwavering support and spiritual guidance.
In a now-viral video, Rema said, “I’m not here to seek accolades or glory for myself. I’m here to give God the glory. I believe it’s important to give back because the church has embraced me, prayed for me, and kept me spiritually grounded.”
He announced his donations, stating, “First, I pledge N40 million towards the church’s infrastructure. I also pledge N20 million to Rhapsody of Realities. Since I came from the teens’ church, I want to contribute N25 million towards its infrastructure as well. Additionally, I pledge N20 million to support widows in the church today.”

Rema also shared how the church had supported his family during a difficult time following his father’s passing.
He recalled, “When I was eight years old and lost my dad, we felt lost and abandoned. Everything we had was taken from us, and we felt very alone. I remember that Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, the pastors of this church, opened a shop for my mum, and that shop is what she used to take care of us.”
EKO HOT BLOG reported that Rema returned to his hometown in Benin on Tuesday in preparation for his highly anticipated homecoming concert. Music producer Collins Michael, known as Don Jazzy, and the Mavin crew also arrived in Benin to show their support for Rema’s homecoming event.
