She acknowledged Mo Abudu’s monumental contributions to the Nigerian and global creative spaces, inspiring young talents and an entire generation of African storytellers, visionaries, and dreamers.
The Commissioner affirmed that Mo Abudu’s impact through partnership initiatives with the Lagos State Government is indelible and will forever be appreciated.

She noted that the event aligns with the values dear to Lagos State, including fostering innovation, supporting arts, and providing platforms for diverse voices to shine.
Consul General William B. Stevenson commended Mo Abudu for her steadfastness and recognized her investments in fashion, music, films, and arts.
He highlighted the US’s partnerships with the creative sector, acknowledging the incredible power of creativity, culture, and diplomacy.
Mo Abudu, in her response, encouraged the younger generation to pursue their passion and dreams, sharing her own journey and the importance of telling African stories.
She unveiled the Lagos Canvas, a project she had conceived long ago, and announced plans to showcase it globally.
The event was a celebration of Mo Abudu’s achievements and a testament to her dedication to the creative industry. As she looks to the future, Mo Abudu believes the creative industry in Africa will attain $20 billion in revenue from investments by 2050.
