Pop star Justin Timberlake was sentenced to community service on Friday after pleading guilty to a charge related to drink-driving, according to reports from US media.

The 43-year-old singer was arrested on June 18 in Sag Harbor, around 100 miles east of New York City, after police observed his BMW running a stop sign and swerving between lanes.

Initially, in a virtual court appearance in August, Timberlake pleaded not guilty to driving while intoxicated. During that hearing, the judge suspended his driver’s license in New York state, US outlets reported.

However, during a later appearance, Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace sentenced Timberlake to community service after he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while alcohol-impaired. The court also required Timberlake to issue a public statement, according to The New York Post.
