The Odole Owa of Ijesaland and Traditional Prime Minister of the Palace, High Chief Adebola Orolugbagbe, confirmed the monarch’s death on Friday. He also stated that the traditional palace at Okemese would be shut down immediately, as the customary transition rites will take place over the next 90 days.

Oba Aromolaran, who ascended the throne in 1982, ruled for 42 years before passing away on Wednesday following a brief illness.
In response to the news, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, described Oba Aromolaran’s death as a profound loss for Yorubaland and the Oduduwa race worldwide.
Speaking through his spokesperson, Otunba Moses Olafare, Ooni said, “Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II was not only a father to the people of Ijesaland, but his passing is a monumental loss to all sons and daughters of the Oduduwa race globally. He was a beacon of wisdom and guidance, playing a crucial role in the unity and progress of Yorubaland.”
“The profound impacts that the late Owa Obokun had on the people of Ijesaland, Osun State, and the Yoruba nation as a whole can never be overemphasized as he was a visionary leader and custodian of Ijesa’s rich cultural heritage, whose reign was marked by peace, progress, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of his people.
