The purpose of the meeting was to formally introduce Monday Okpebholo, the newly elected governor of Edo State, to the President.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ganduje was accompanied by several APC governors, including Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Usman Ododo of Kogi, and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun.
Also in attendance were Senator Adams Oshiomhole representing Edo North and Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu.
Okpebholo was declared the winner of the September 21 governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
However, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) raised concerns about alleged irregularities in the election process. Despite these objections, Okpebholo’s victory remains the official result.
On the same day, INEC presented the certificate of return to Monday Okpebholo at its headquarters in Abuja, officially confirming him as the governor-elect of Edo State.
