Hon. Olowa, Health Commissioner, and Governor’s Special Adviser Inspect Site for Proposed World-Class Medical Facility in Akodo
Ekohotblog reports that the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, along with the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, inspected the site of the proposed world-class medical facility in Akodo today.

The project, which is a collaboration between the Lagos State Government and the African Development Bank (AfDB), aims to transform healthcare delivery in the region and provide residents with top-tier medical services.
Located at the former council secretariat near the MOPOL 49 Base in Akodo, the facility will offer comprehensive services in various medical fields and is set to become one of Nigeria’s leading healthcare institutions.
Speaking at the site, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa expressed enthusiasm for the project’s potential impact on the community. “This facility will be a game-changer for Ibeju-Lekki and Lagos State as a whole.
It will not only provide world-class medical care but also create job opportunities for our youth, contributing significantly to the area’s economic development,” he said.
Hon. Olowa also commended the Lagos State Government and the African Development Bank for choosing Ibeju-Lekki as the site for the landmark project. He said that the medical center will elevate the community’s healthcare standards and attract medical tourism.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, emphasized the importance of the project, describing it as a critical step towards achieving the state’s vision of providing quality healthcare to all residents.
“This facility is a testament to our commitment to building a strong and sustainable healthcare system in Lagos State.

Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Health, also praised the project’s expected impact, stating, “This medical facility will help bridge the healthcare gap and make quality medical services more accessible to people in Ibeju-Lekki and surrounding areas.
It is part of the state government’s unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of its citizens.”
The inspection ended with an interactive session between the Lagos State officials and representatives from the African Development Bank, where they discussed the next steps for the project’s implementation.
