BREAKING: Five Dead, Others Hospitalized After Church ‘Love Feast’ In Ibadan

No fewer than five people have been confirmed dead, and several others are receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Centre in Olodo, Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, after attending a ‘Love Feast’ (Ipese) organized by a white garment church in Ibadan.

The incident, which occurred last Sunday at the church premises in Apata, Ido Local Government Area, has left the community in shock.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to sources, it remains unclear if the Ipese meal was the cause of the deaths.

A church member, speaking anonymously, said, “I ate the same beans as everyone, including the victims, and nothing happened to me.

It’s uncertain if the incident is linked to theb Ipese meal, as some claim. Various agencies, including the police, DSS, and WHO, have been investigating, but no conclusive findings have been released.”

A staff member at the Infectious Disease Centre confirmed that 50 victims have been treated and discharged, with several others still under medical care.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, also confirmed the incident, noting that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause.
