NAFDAC Workers Begin Indefinite Strike Over Welfare Disputes
This action follows the management’s failure to address critical issues concerning the welfare of its members.
In a communiqué (SSASCGOC/NAFDAC/COMMUNIQUE/VOL.1) issued on October 4, 2024, the workers explained that after several meetings with management yielded no progress on matters related to promotions, salaries, and overall staff welfare, they had no choice but to take this step.
The directive for the strike, which began on Monday, was signed by the Secretary of the TUC, Comrade (Dr.) Ejor Michael.

The press release stated: “This is to inform all staff that following the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum issued to management in the Communique of September 20, 2024, and the failure to resolve the issues raised, a Congress of NAFDAC staff was convened on Friday, October 4, 2024.
“After thorough deliberation, Congress unanimously resolved to embark on an indefinite nationwide strike across all NAFDAC formations, starting Monday, October 7, 2024. Consequently, all staff are directed to cease work by withdrawing their services in compliance with the strike action.
“This decision stems from NAFDAC management’s inability to address the critical issues outlined in the Communique within the stipulated period. Congress finds the inaction intolerable and emphasizes that the strike will continue until all demands are fully met.

“SSASCGOC state and zonal coordinators are instructed to ensure strict adherence to this directive. Dear comrades, your cooperation is crucial for the success of this nationwide strike.
“We remain steadfast in our pursuit until all issues are satisfactorily addressed.”
